Hackenberg provided a guided tour par excellence, to an underground battleship of a fortress. Its military museum is a hidden treasure trove. Its scale and conception is awesome. As a museum concept, Hackenberg gives us a working underground railway, fully serviceable gun turrets, and a 2 hour guided tour worth every cent.
In addition the surrounding picturesque country-side has been left wild, to add a further shroud to the hidden nature of the museum itself.
